Seed funding
To ignite innovation through global partnership, we have developed a range of seed funding opportunities for academic staff.
Seed funding initiatives with our partner universities can catalyze groundbreaking ideas. Our initiatives aim to create opportunities for new collaborative work that will have a sustainable future.
Current seed funding opportunities
Strategic partners Edinburgh and IITKGP have launched a seed fund to foster deep collaborations in research and education.
Seed funding call now open
Researchers in themes of rural energy, water, food and health and advanced manufacturing at IITKGP and Edinburgh are invited to apply.
Proposals should be sustainable with a plan for engagement that includes providing outstanding developmental experience for participating students, building, or consolidating long-term collaborations, leveraging external funding and publication outputs.
Around 8-10 proposals will be funded, depending on the average cost of those supported, each with two Principal Investigators: one from Edinburgh and one from IITKGP.
Applications are open to any eligible Principal Investigator from the College of Science and Engineering at University of Edinburgh and Faculties of IITKGP.
Colleagues from College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are encouraged to apply as Co-Principal Investigators to develop interdisciplinary proposals.
Each successful proposal may receive up to a maximum of three months research student mobility in each direction.
